Quantum Superposition in Video Games
Here are a couple of great videos that attempt to illustrate the potential Many-Worlds Interpretation of quantum superposition through recorded video games.
The first video (below) was constructed using the Kaizo Mario hacked ROM version of the Super Nintendo classic Super Mario World. This particular custom level was played 1,000 times and than superimposed on top of one another, giving the impression that Mario’s many possibilities are being realized over and over again.

Nice post, but the Mario one was played 134 times, not 1000. Says so on the video and the documenting page.

I posted a theory of mine that is quite closely related to this concept on my site at http://lockenet.blogspot.com/2008/01/constant-parallellism.html
I even used a picture of Gradius generated by this same technique to illustrate

TrackMania is funny to watch, but Mario also makes a point in world-probability, since bad moves of Mario end the World which leaves the lines with stronger probability to be seen by us. You could get the probability into TrackMania if you make the lesser probable lines weaker in brightness and contrast, so that the stronger lines are seen more clearly.
Also, one should not stop at the metaphor. What is the superposition of my scribbling, if not that it is another view on the Video Games you have watched? Take into account that you already are collapsing to get any idea, though.

in an infinte number of universes mario still fails epically

The cinematography in the TrackMania one is top-notch.

That’s so trippy!!! I love it. The car clip is really impressive.

The Trackmania one is not created by playing a 1000 times then superimposing, it’s done using a mod, AFAIK.

@SomeBert – I agree.
If the Mario example shows anything, it’s that (here) 133 times out of 134, he will fail, as the right conditions to finish a level intact (or support a world) did not prevail.

This is a direct rip off of the new presets video clip (old song) “Are you the one (juan)” BMW add, where they use 10′s if not 100′s of CGI cars to demonstrate their (BMW car/Song). Look it up, it’d on V2 Australia (Foxtel).

Then is an adverb, while than is a conjunction. Your sentences should read “and then” not “and than”.

the song on the car video is so annoying.

Facinating stuff. The Trackmania vid was powerful eye candy, but I think the Mario vid got the point across clearer: you could clearly see where one possibility ended where the other moved on… or as clear as you could see it with all the sprites flying around… XP
